On the 10th of November, Riding Together – Solidarity on Horseback was presented at Todos a Galope Equestrian Centre (TaG), located at Monsanto Forest Park, in Lisbon. RITSH’s Training Programme 3 took place from the 31st of August to the 9th of September at The Institute Français du cheval et de l’Equitation (IFCE). This training was dedicated to acquiring skills and competencies for planning, delivering and assessing horse mediated activities, in particular: understanding the concept, principles, applications and challenges of equine mediation; knowing how to apply the behaviour of the horse in an equine mediation session; and developing one’s horsemanship tools to safely conduct horse mediated sessions, namely by developing concentration and listening capacities using relaxation and psycho-sensorial awakening.
Riding Together – Solidarity on Horseback’s Training program 2: Transfer of learning and collective pedagogy took place at the Institut français du cheval et de l’équitation, in Saumur, France. This Training had its first session in December 2016 (from the 12nd to the 17th) and the second in February 2017 (from the 7th to the 11th).
From the 6th to the 8th of July 2016 it took place the Training for the research project. The Training was led by the partner University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia at its facilities. Riding Together – Solidarity on Horseback’s team gathered for the apprenticeship of the Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methodology that will be applied to evaluate the impact of the equestrian activities in terms of social inclusion and wellbeing of the participants in the pilot programs.
Riding Together – Solidarity on Horseback (RITSH) Assessment Meeting took place in Lisbon from the 7th to the 9th of June 2016 at Todos a Galope Equestrian Center. The meeting was an important step into fundamental issues regarding the development of the project, namely the Assessment for the creation of the Social Enterprise Model (SEM), the preparation of the Training Module and the Communication, Dissemination and Sponsorship Engagement Strategy. The Assessment Meeting was also a good opportunity to discuss management, reporting, planning and administrative issues.
On the 15th of April 2016, Todos a Galope, partner and coordinator of Riding Together Solidarity on Horseback (RITSH) was invited to do a presentation about this european project at IPDJ Portugal, in Lisbon, an event organized to promote Erasmus + 2016. RITSH was pointed out as a good example of a project developed with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union within the action Collaborative Partnerships, NotForProfit European Sport Events.
Riding Together Solidarity on Horseback kickoff meeting took place on the 4th & 5th of February 2016 in Lisbon, gathering an energetic and enthusiastic team. This was an important opportunity to gather all the partners and start the Assessment for the creation of the Social Enterprise Model (SEM ), a main goal of the project, as well as the Assessment and Development of the Training Module (which will provide the team with the necessary tools to develop the project during the next 3 years).
